When Paul spoke to the Church in Corinth, he advised "That there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it." 1 Corinthians 12:25-27.
Today, we need to live by the same principle of community espoused by Paul. It is important to remember that in the early church's life, division and internal conflict jeopardized the church's success at Corinth. Paul reminded the people that the church is like a body and that only as a group would they thrive and become what God intended the church to be. The early church didn't attend church; they were the church. God has gifted all his children with spiritual gifts, and our responsibility is to empower one another through love and patience.
Remember, you are the Body of Christ! Our goal is to grow in knowledge and grace as we lift our voices in unity and witness the good news of Jesus Christ. God has chosen and anointed you for such a time as this to walk in spirit and truth.

Again we can glean important insights into how we should live in communion by reading the word of God. In the same scripture, 1 Corinthians 12:25-27, in Paul's correspondence with the church of Corinth, we see that he is addressing a wide range of issues affecting the community of believers. The early church was revolutionary and so are we!
